UW MedFlight Helicopter Crashes

This is kinda messed up for me... It was coming back from La Crosse, and the road it crashed near is a very sparsely populated area where my Aunt and Uncle lived until a few years ago.  I grew up climbing the bluffs where this happened, and I'm presuming that I've been to the spot where this happened (they haven't released precise coordinates yet, but my dad is going to go check it out).

That is just so strange. For all that they've flown, for this to be their first accident. The sad part of it, personally, is that they used to fly out of the Middleton airport, and I've probably heard the pilot many times. It's such a loss to the health care in the commuinty and the aviation community. Those guys would work their butts off to be able to go out in any weather just to help someone.

I know, it's a really sad thing to have happen. Plus, they're grounding other MedFlight helicopters until such time as they're sure the cause was human error. All around, it's just a tragedy. It's very weird to think of this accident happening where I played as a kid, on the bluffs that I climbed and hiked.

And to make things even worse, the patient they took to LaCrosse died today.
